Black Panther/Thundercats Finally Free

$25.00

The 8th poster for my fan fiction Black Panther/ Thundercats, “Finally Free”.

With a thunderous boom, Black Panther returned in a flash of light in front of Mumm-Ra back in the alter room. T’challa stood firmly with the Sword of Omens in his hand looking down at the decrepit corpse scratching and twitching in pain. Mumm-Ra voice gurgled and fluctuated as he strained to speak. He began to explain to T’challa how the Ancient Spirits of Evil entrapped his soul into the body of a Pharaoh thousands of years ago. How he was no longer able to recall his original life beyond the reign of horrors he was commanded to bring to pass by his masters.

As he spoke, the entire team of Thundercats emerged from a hidden panel chiseled into the marbled floor of the room. Panthro motioned to the team that everything was going according to plan and they had nothing to fear. Noticing the arrival of heroes, Mumm-Ra inched his gaze slowly to meet Lion-O. He went on to explain that Lion-O was not a victim of random circumstance, but he was chosen by his masters as their next host body. Had he succeeded in crushing the Sword of Omens, he would have destroyed the last gate preventing them from progressing their evil conquest across the galaxy. Now free from their chains, Mumm-Ra can finally rest and release the shackles holding the Pharaoh’s spirit prisoner.

Lion-O peered carefully at Mumm-Ra as he struggled to understand. Mumm-Ra gathered his last bit of strength and pointed at the Sword of Omens.
“The moment I was forced into this body, the previous spirit could not share residence at the same time. Being of good essence and intent, that innocent spirit was expelled by the Ancient Spirits of Evil and born anew into the Eye of Thundera. As long as his spirit thrived on pure good, the Sword of Omens would forever swell in power. It was the one force that could rival the evil within me, because that spirit was the rightful owner of this vessel. As I relinquish my hold on this body, the spirit living inside the Eye can finally return after all these years.”

All eyes turned to the Sword of Omens just as Black Panther began to hold the Eye in front of Mumm-Ra. T’challa revealed that he stumbled upon this revelation while he was conducting his analysis of the weapon. He explained that while in the necropolis, he whispered directly into the Eye of Thundera, commanding the spirit within to grant him all his strength so that he may finally break the chains that held him hostage. The Panther goddess Bast also granted the two a fraction of her power to ensure their success.

“Release him.” T’challa’s command was not only directed to the physical, but to the spiritual plain as well. With his command uttered, Mumm-Ra was able to whisper his last few words as his possession of the body was now over.
“Finally… Free.”
A trail of green smoke seeped through the bandages that wrapped around his body as T’challa cradled the base of his head. To everyone’s amazement, the Eye of Thundera opened and emitted a powerful red glow that washed over the figure revealing the face of a young man. The Pharaoh’s eyes overflowed with warm tears as he quietly thanked T’challa. The king of Wakanda nodded in reply just before he felt the weight of the man’s body become nonexistent. Closing his eyes, the Pharaoh’s physical body became millions of tiny sparkling lights, floating and twinkling into the stifled air of the alter room. They all watch as the very last handful of lights flicker away towards the ceiling.

With the team saved and the evil quelled, Black Panther was showered with thanks from the Thundercats. With Jaga’s help, the panther king returned to his African homeland of Wakanda in the blink of an “Eye.”
Thanks for Reading ya’ll.
